Honor students capture essence of Elbert County

For most high school students summer break is the time to sleep in and break free of school activities, but this summer a select group of Elbert County Comprehensive High School art students have traded in their mornings of sleep for a chance to display their talents for years to come by painting a mural on Public Square.

Last Monday the students arrived at the location of the mural, a wall beside the old Elbert County Chamber of Commerce building, to begin painting from morning until noon.

The mural is a collaboration of ideas from former Main Street Director Catrina Goudelock and City Manager Lanier Dunn with ECCHS art educator David Bennett and the National Art Honor Society students.
